Supporting the Redevelopment of the IWK Emergency Department

The 2024 Great Big Dig focuses on raising funds to support the redevelopment of the IWK Emergency Department (ED). The only specialized pediatric ED and Level 1 pediatric trauma centre east of Quebec. After nearly 40 years, this vital facility has outgrown its space, making the construction of a state-of-the-art department essential for meeting the needs of patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Providing Critical Equipment for Emergency Care

Funds raised through this year’s event will help purchase priority equipment, including critical care monitors and stretchers, for the redeveloped ED. These tools will play a crucial role in delivering life-saving treatment and ensuring the highest standard of emergency care for our youngest community members.
